Pump Suction Problems....

Pump Suction Problems....

Pump Suction Problems....

(OP)
I have a Salt water cooling pump attached to a Diesel generator which is prone to air locking shortly after start up and concequently tripping the engine out due to over temp.  The top of the p/p casing is Approx water level with the inlet piping entering the p/p from above.  I would like to know if there is any sort of auto air venting system that would be likely to operated in these conditions. (ie Suction side of poorly located p/p).
Any info greatly recieved.
