.iges import problem

.iges import problem

(OP)
Hi all,
I have an .iges file, imported. When I want to make it into a part file, etc., instead og getting to choose from Part, assembly or drawing, I just get part. Below is the link to the file.
I cannot figure out what the problem is.

Thanks in advance...

RE: .iges import problem

You can't import an IGES file to a drawing.  If your IGES file has multiple bodies and you want it to open as an assembly, you need to open it through the SolidWorks File->Open dialog.  When you change the file type to IGES the "References" button will change to "Options".  Click it.  Under the General category there is a checkbox labeled "Import multiple bodies as parts".  If the IGES file contains multiple bodies, it will import each body as a separate part, and then put them all into an assembly for you.  If that box is not checked, the bodies will all come in as one multibody part.
