ROUGH MACHINING- CHANGING TOOL STARTING POINT, ON SECOND PASS

ROUGH MACHINING- CHANGING TOOL STARTING POINT, ON SECOND PASS

ROUGH MACHINING- CHANGING TOOL STARTING POINT, ON SECOND PASS

(OP)
I am cutting out a free form surface that i created in catia version16, and i have rough machined it , in simulation mode..from a block solid work piece as default...that was the first 1st pass cut. But how can i retain what has been cut out and than do another cut of the 1st pass cut , but now at a different tool starting point. ???wanting the new Tool starting point being only a couple mm's from original starting point. I am aiming to optimise this machining process by having the second pass cut, machine the scallop (residue left over) off in order for a smoother finish.

Any suggestions or help/tips appreciated
