How to overlay 2 images in one figure

How to overlay 2 images in one figure

(OP)
Hi,

I am currently writing a medical image registration program which registers CT and MR grayscale unit8 images.

My problem is that I need to overlay one of the images on top of the other, within the same figure so that a histogram can be taken of the combined image, so that I can analyse its content.

Does anyone know of any functions within MATLAB or know of an approach in which this coulb be achieved.
