ProE to SolidEdge

ProE to SolidEdge

(OP)
I have a client that uses SolidEdge V11, we use ProE R2000i/2000i2/2001. I would like the client to be able to reuse our ProE models (with Features and history) in SolidEdge. I don't want to export just STL or IGES.

Does anybody have some experience with this? I have heard of SolidEdge's "Feature Reconginer". Does this work well?

Your insights are appreciated as always.

RE: ProE to SolidEdge

I am not familiar with the feature recognizer, but SE does have a Pro/E translator.  You shouldn't have to export to STL or IGES, just give them the original files.  That should help reduce any extra potential for incorrect transfers.

Scott,

In SE, when you open a ProE model (.prt file), does SE show a histroy tree of the features? And can you modify the values of the imported model?

Thanks for your help in advance.

RE: ProE to SolidEdge

I haven't had a Pro/E file to test, but I think the .prt just comes in as a "solid body."  Just a single dumb solid.  I know this isn't what you're looking for, but at least it saves you an exporting step.

Well I will meet the client and do a PrE <--> SE test to see how things go.

Thanks for your help.
