Is the offset or misalignemnt axial or circumferential a tthe weld joint?

Hi Metengr,

The offset of misalignment is at a circunferencial weld of two pipes NPS 6 std.

Octavio.

RE: Remediation of Misaligment

Depending on the piping code of construction, if this is a radial misalignment or offset, it would be ideal to cut it in half, to 1/16".

To do this, one can locally trim and introduce a counterbore on the ID surface of the pipe at the weld prep region. If the wall thickness after counterboring falls below minimum wall, one can extend the weld cap to restore the wall thickness.

RE: Remediation of Misaligment

If the piping is configured where you can achieve some rotation, I would allow the judicious application of a small force to bring the pipe in line. Not know your exact circumstances I see problem with applying around 500# with a quarter ton chainfall.
