New sketch reference....denied?

New sketch reference....denied?

hey folks, quick question: i've been handed a model and wanted to redefine a feature sketch to add a reference, but i'm getting "References to additional 3d geometry may not be made; please select again".

i've seen this before when messing around with a new config.pro (which i most certainly am at the moment), and know it's my meddling causing it. just can't remember where the switch is. any help?

RE: New sketch reference....denied?

It is probably the parent of mirrored or copied geometry.  You will have to make the section independent or delete the mirrored/copied child (if you want it to still be dependent.)

sure enough, made it independent and tweaked away. thanks orbit.

i've been having other issues since coming in and trying to tune a config. i'm still seeing dimensions i can't change tolerance schemes for and kinda lumped the problems together.
