Mirror of part needed to be a separate part

Mirror of part needed to be a separate part

Mirror of part needed to be a separate part

(OP)
I modeled a solid using Catia V5R17 and I need the mirrored version as a separate part. How do I mirror the solid into a separate part? Is there a way to keep associativity?

Thank you,

Jeff

RE: Mirror of part needed to be a separate part

The first way I can think of is to create an assembly and
Insert your part. then while working in the product, go to the top of the window and goto Insert->Symmetry.  Choose the plane of symmetry, choose your part from the tree, Choose your options in the dialog box.  Ok.

Save management.  done.

Let us know if that worked for you.

Yes it worked great! I was not in the assembly workbench... Thank you.

The way I usually do it, not in assembly, is to copy-paste as result with link the part body.  then in the pasted part body, do a symmetry (not mirror) function.

Albigger,

That's also a great way to do it.  I like that method.
