I need to select a small dc fan (5-10w) to cool a heatsink. The fan has to be resistant to salt spray. Can anybody recomend potetial suppliers?

Colin

RE: Electronics cooling fan

CMcF, what are the reliability requirements, resistant to salt spray does not fully describe, does the housing need to be waterproof? If longevity is not an issue, just source a cheap PC cooling fan and place in a housing. Replace the fan as it disolves! They are relatively inexpensive.

HEC,
a very valid sugestion. However access rather than cost would be an issue.
I have since found that EBM PAPST will supply "Encased Fans". These have had their windings and PCB potted, the cable entry sealed and have stainless steel bearings.

Thanks any way,

Colin
