RE: Decimal separator

BS 5775-0:1993 section 3.3
BS 8888:2000   section 18.2

RE: Decimal separator

I wrote the above in a hurry on a Friday afternoon!
The ISO standard is 31-0:1992 (which is identical to BS 5775-0)

RE: Decimal separator

The ISO rules for "representation of numbers and numerical values" may be found in ISO Directives Part 2:2001 "Rules ..." clause 6.6.8.
Briefly, the decimal separator is a comma, and "thousands" both before and after the decimal are separate by a space, i.e. digits are presented in groups of three.
ISO Directives may be viewed/downloaded for free from the ISO SDIS website:
http://www.iso.ch/sdis/directives
and "Proceed to public areas" (you do not have to log in) when seeking the Directives).
