Typesetting ChE documents with LaTeX
Typesetting ChE documents with LaTeX
(OP)
Dear Eng-Tip-pers,
Has anyone ever published a ChE Technical document using the typesetting program LaTeX? If so, could you please give me some recommendations of packages or tips to use, specially, for chemical engineering?
TIA, dogtop

RE: Typesetting ChE documents with LaTeX
I have often used LaTex, and simply love the quality and distinct look. I only have experience with MikTex and, like others, it has a fairly steep learning curve.
RE: Typesetting ChE documents with LaTeX
Thanks for your response. I'd like to use LaTeX to draw PFDs and P&IDs in reports to clients rather than for publishing papers. Maybe I will try to write a ChE package.
Thanks, dogtop
RE: Typesetting ChE documents with LaTeX
The package I use nowadays for combining Latex formulas and graphics, is called IPE. Excellent quality, "easy" to use and you can have multiple sheets.
Inkscape may suit you better, and support Latex through extensions.
RE: Typesetting ChE documents with LaTeX
Could you give more details about IPE? What does IPE stands for? Is there a website for IPE?
TIA,
dogtop

Website for Ipe is:

Website for Inkscape is:
