DC/DC Totaly Isolated converter

DC/DC Totaly Isolated converter

(OP)
I need a circuit that will work with 3.3vdc and drive a 1:2 transformer for a totaly isolated converter.  We first attempted using the Max854 chip but our power requirements exceed the specs of the max845 (500 mW max with a 3.3vdc supply). The power requirements of the circuit we are powering is approx. 800mV. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

RE: DC/DC Totaly Isolated converter

I am not familiar with the MAX845, but after checking the data sheet, you could use dual MAX845 circuits, or use drive transistors between the IC and the Transformer, to boost the output.  Dual or single ended will work.

Ray, Linear Technology is the best choice for switching power supply chips.  Anything and everything.  Lots of app. notes.  Great tech support.

If this is for production, I would further suggest avoiding Maxim.  I have had terrible experiences with availability issues with them.  I once worked for Fluke, the meter guys, and you could get fired for attempting to use a Maxim part there.  Just a word of warning.
