Rebar elements

Rebar elements

Rebar elements

(OP)
Hi, I'm modelling a truck tyre using rebar elements for the hoops in the tyre structure, but they don't contribute to the mass of the system during a FREQUENCY analysis. Is there a way to add mass to them using abaqus6.2.1 or an alternative element I could try? Thanks.

RE: Rebar elements

The *DENSITY option for the rebar material properties is ignored. Hence, the mass of the rebar is neglected in *FREQUENCY and *DYNAMIC procedures and for *DLOAD load types GRAV, CENTRIF, and ROTA.

So I think one way to solve this is the increase the density of those underlying element correspondingly.

hope the above helpful
