RE: mouse pointer changed to hourglass in solidworks

Is it a complete hourglass or is it the selection filter? I often hit a wrong key and turn on the selection filter, and since I don't know what key I hit, I can't turn it off so I have to exit and restart.

RE: mouse pointer changed to hourglass in solidworks

If you've accidentally turned on a selection filter and don't know how to turn it off, hit F5. That'll bring up the selection filter toolbar and then you can turn off whatever you turned on.

RE: mouse pointer changed to hourglass in solidworks

F6 allows you toggle the filters on/off as well, without the need to bring up the filter toolbar.

This doesn't help much if you want to change what you're filtering for, but if you just want to turn the filter off it will work fine.

Thanks. I just put up a sticky note. I know it will happen again with my clumsy fingers.

Well usually when the mouse pointer turns to an hourglass its indicates SW it rebuilding or doing something. Sometimes its crashing smile.. haha anyway that's what I have found.
