Indian Boiler regulation

Indian Boiler regulation

Can anyone help me understand what this Indian Boiler regulatio (IBR) does? How do we get approval for control valves for IBR?

RE: Indian Boiler regulation

My experience of IBR regulations is strictly in refinery pipework.

IBR regulations apply to all steam and associated lines such as boiler feedwater in India. There are specific requirements for materials, wall thickness etc, similar to other design codes.

Results must be produced in a specific form  .... stress isometrics showing all restriants, springs etc. This can be very demanding, usually being produced towards the end of a project, and rejection can prevent plant operation.

Good advice ... Treat IBR and its representatives with great respect !!

RE: Indian Boiler regulation

The design and fabrication of boilers has be done in accordance with IS:2825 and other Indian Standards. IBR basically certifies that the boiler conforms to those codes.

Ciao.
