Globe valve with indicator

Globe valve with indicator

Globe valve with indicator

(OP)
I am wanting to use globe valves for throttling flow in a marine cooling system application instead of an orifice.

But once I adjust the globe valve to the proper position, I want to ensure it can be repositioned to this same height if it gets mistakenly turned. Or a lock to prevent rotation would be good.

Is there a globe valve out there with a lock or a scale on the stem that shows it's position?

Thanks.

RE: Globe valve with indicator

How big? Big'uns often are easy to position re-set.

5 to 8 inch.

I've seen chains and padlocks used for just that purpose.  It can't be a critical service valve that requires operating in an emergency however.

A balancing valve(check with HVAC valve manufacturers) has that option plus you can check the flowrate by a manometer.

MarineGreg,

You will probably find the most suitable solution by mounting a lockable manual gear with indicator on your valve.

Check for instance www.auma.com

I would in addition suggest a regulating (manual) valve.

Some regulating valves are already factory equipped, or can by equipped with indicator and lock at factory.
