User Defined Feature Library Icon/Name Removal.

User Defined Feature Library Icon/Name Removal.

User Defined Feature Library Icon/Name Removal.

(OP)
We are running NX3 Native on Dell PCs and I have recently created some UDFs. In my learning process I created some that were not as intended so I deleted the .cgm and .prt files from the proper folder. My question is, these deleted names still appear in my Library window so how do I clean it up. Also I would like to reuse these same names for future UDFs and since thay appear in this Library window the system tells me they are in use.

While I have your attention, I also have another problem that is baffling me. On some of my newly created UDFs I am getting:

Message - Invalid entry found. Please check the part and cgm files.

This message appears after I select the desired UDF from the Library window. The picture displays in the Library window so the .cgm file must me valid. This leaves the part file as questionable, but I can not figure out why. I can open the part file in NX from where it resides in the /resource folder, and the udf_database.txt line looks like this:

Insert_NAS1130-08L20D;$UGII_ROOT_DIR/udf/resource/Ingenium/Insert_NAS1130-08L20D.prt;$UGII_ROOT_DIR/udf/resource/Ingenium/Insert_NAS1130-08L20D.cgm;/Ingenium;;

Thanks again for your help.

Bumping this to the top hoping someone out there can help me on this issue. I would like to get this going so our users can benefit from the use of standard features.

Thanks all for you help.

Gary,

You should be able to edit the TXT file you refer to, cleaing out any "old" data.

Thanks for the response phillpd, but the original UDFs were assigned to "No Library" as default, and it is the text file for that location that I cannot find. They do not appear in the u$UGII_ROOT__DIR\df_database.txt file. If someone knows where the "No Library" database is, please let me know.

Thanks all for trying to help. I just tracked the location down thru the Windows file search application. The "No Library" UDF names are located in this file:

C:\Program Files\UGS\NX 3.0\UGII\library_dir.txt

I deleted the unwanted names out of this file and now our "No Library" menu appears minus the names we did not want.
