Equations for rubber drying expanders

Equations for rubber drying expanders

Equations for rubber drying expanders

(OP)
The department I work in produces polyisoprene rubber.  As part of the drying process we run it through a model 10 [manufacturer's name had to be removed because of spam filter - it starts with ander and ends with son] expander coupled to a 900 RPM, 800 HP motor (4:1 gearbox puts the screw speed at 225 RPM).
I want to find a way of calculating the work done by the screw on the rubber.  My goal is to be able to determine the correct number of dies and plugs to put in our die plate to reduce cyclic loading and unloading of the barrel.  I want to hold a constant 800 psi on the expander side of the die plate.  Does anyone know of a website or book that will cover equations associated with expander screws?
