Does anybody know if it is possible t ohave SW create vanishing points for photo rendering with Photoworks

RE: Photoworks Vanish

Sort of, but not in the way you might be thinking.  You can set up cameras with a variety of lenses.  The lenses work like lenses with focal lengths standard to 35mm SLR cameras (50mm similar to human eyes' point of view, 28mm a bit wide angle, 150mm telephoto [zoomed in], etc.).  And you can dramatically alter the degree of perspective and distortion and depth of field for any given shot by changing the attributes of the cameras you set up.  Check it out in the Help files ("camera") for details in getting everything set up.

A star for you Theophilus, I had forgotten about the perspective that the cameras give you, which is sad given that I was working with animator just last week.

RE: Photoworks Vanish

You're welcome.  Yeah, I'm getting more and more use with the cameras--now you can move the cameras around within animations without using a sled part.  I just started getting used to that about a year ago with this animation--both the camera and focus point move:

(See the "Rail Gate--Safety Trip Bar" animation for panning camera.)

I'll be doing more animations and renderings soon, so this certainly comes in handy.

RE: Photoworks Vanish

Rob--one thing I don't like about doing that with the Perspective (and this is why I'm increasingly using the cameras)--is that if you hide or show something in a scene, your field of view changes.  So, if you want to render certain aspects of a scene separate from others (to quickly make transparent layers in Photoshop, for instance) the changed field of view will not allow the parts to line up properly.

Plus, in 2007, setting up a camera for a scene is very fast and simple (much better than previously).  And the camera's field of view is totally independent of the scene.
