Export a STEP or IGES from I-DEAS(use STEP for best results, from my experience).

Create a new part in Pro/Engineer and select Insert-->Shared Data-->From File

You will not be able to modify the part in Pro/Engineer.

I thought that it was but easy to open model files, since when I am going to open file, in the type of file appears the possibility of opening to model I-deas (*mf1).
When I want to open a file *.mf1 appears to me the following message: it must define the route to the installation of i-deas to concern files i-deas. Define the option of “config.pro” INTF3D_IDEAS_INSTALL_DIR with the complete route to the point of load of i-deas.
That comment means this that them?

I believe it means you must have Ideas installed on you machine and tell Pro/E the path so it can start Ideas and do some kind of data exchange.
