Estimating loss due to steam leakage
Estimating loss due to steam leakage
(OP)
I would like to revisit this thread thread378-75850: Estimating loss due to leakage the online calculator links to various sites are all not working anymore.
"I am currently doing an thermographic leak detection survey of the power plant that I work in. Steam leaks are the prime targets in this survey. Has any one done a "dollars lost"/year type survey like this before. What should I take into account to estimate losses ie pressure, line size, cost/m scfh, etc. and is there some kind of generic formula to estimate leakage amts. I know how to figure $$$$$ but with different size leaks how would you know amounts."
Thanks,

RE: Estimating loss due to steam leakage
There are people that will come in and inventory your steam system and give you a report outling all the traps with leaks and actual leaks atmosphere. They will probably offer to repair all leaks internal and external
