Circular Pattern Problem

Circular Pattern Problem

Circular Pattern Problem

(OP)
Good afternoon, I have a extruded cylinder and I placed a triangle profile on the face and extrude cut it thru all and then I patterned it 3 time around the axis.  No problem, then I moved to the top view and a put a profile there and I extrude cut it thru to next to make it a slot and then I tried to circular pattern the slot and instead of 3 segments it wiped out 2 of the three segments.  What went wrong?  Is there any way to accomplish getting the 3 segments?  Thank you in advance for any help or ideas.

RE: Circular Pattern Problem

Unless I misunderstand, you are trying to split a single body into three separate bodies using a circular pattern of cuts.  This seems to be either a limitation or a bug, because I created a simple washer, cut thru to make a split washer, then circular patterned the cut.  Geometry pattern wouldn't work, and instead of creating multiple bodies with the full feature pattern, it just kept one of the pieces that would have been created.  Linear patterns don't seem to have this problem.  My recommendation for now would be to create one body like you want it and circular pattern the body.

RE: Circular Pattern Problem

It seems that the only pattern feature capable of cutting a single body into multiple bodies without losing them is the linear pattern.  Sketch driven patterns, mirrors, and circular patterns all lose bodies when creating the pattern of a feature would cut a single body into multiples.

Thank you for the response and for what it is worth, I did put a copy of the part here:

I have a feeling that handleman may be right, because that is been what I have slowly been discovering my self.

All right, I got it working. All you need to do is make one extruded cut at a time and then it all right.  Thanks for the help.
