Selection Of Entities

(OP)
In SolidWorks 2007 I find that I constantly have to go back and forth between shaded and wire frame mode in order to select the entities I want. This is because when I right mouse click in wire frame I get different choices with Select Other than I do when right clicking Select Other in shaded mode. I would prefer to stay in shaded mode more often. Is there a solution to this or do I have to live with it.

RE: Selection Of Entities

It may depend on the type of entities involved;

Tools > Options > System Options > Display/Selection has several options which may affect the available selections.

Can you be more specific about the differences you see? Perhaps post some images.

Very helpful. Thanks. I was not able to select the edges I wanted in shaded mode. I am able to select them now.

RE: Selection Of Entities

You're welcome.

I prefer to toggle from shaded to wireframe (as you were doing) but using a keyboard shortcut. I found it VERY irritating to have the hidden edges highlight when moving the cursor over a shaded face.

cheers
