Power Factor in 3 phase system

Power Factor in 3 phase system

Power Factor in 3 phase system

(OP)
I monitored my high pressure air compressor over the weekend and noticed that I had very different PF's on the 2 phases that the monitor logs, I would like to have any and all help to explain it.  Phase A had a PF of .254 Phase B had a pf of .929 and system pf was .661.  These readings are an average of 10,000 readings.

RE: Power Factor in 3 phase system

My guess is that whatever you are using to get this data is connected incorrectly.

Check phase and POLARITY of all CT and PT connections.

RE: Power Factor in 3 phase system

Could it be a two watt meter type of connection where you need the results of both meters for three phase values and the results of neither meter by itself means anything?
