Dwell time??

Dwell time??

Dwell time??

(OP)
Im trying to find out what the dwell time for Amerlock 400  primer before applying the topcoat which is Ameron 450 Epoxy Acrylic? I dont know much about paint and I cant find any information on their site. Any information on this would be very much appreciated!! A website linked to all their specs and info would be great!

RE: Dwell time??

The Ameron link for coatings info (http://www.ameroncoatings.com/global/products/index.cfm) no longer works. Turns out PPG acquired Ameron's Performance Coatings & Finishes business in August 2006. PPG created a new division, Protective & Marine Coatings, which see:

Amerlock 400 High-solids epoxy coating: Minimum Recoat/Topcoat time at 70 °F is 16 hours, or 7 hours with 861 accelerator. Note: There are also Amerlock 400AL, 400VOC, 400BF and 2/400BFK versions.

Info for Amercoat® 450H Gloss aliphatic polyurethane topcoat:  Minimum recoat time at 70 °F is 4 hours (1.5 hrs w/866m accelerator). Note: There are also 450 HS & 450HSG versions.
