HydroCAD Infiltration Trench

HydroCAD Infiltration Trench

(OP)
I'm new to using HydroCAD.  I have the site modeled, I would like to include the pipe inside the trench for additional storage, but I'm having a hard time getting HydroCAD to do it.

I'm running version 8 so I already have all the downloads from http://www.hydrocad.net/exfilt.htm the outer storage has been defined as a 4' wide by 4' deep by 99' long trench.  I would like to include the perforated pipe volume in the storage calcs to see if I can reduce the length or depth of the trench.

I looked here http://www.hydrocad.net/chambers.htm for some reason the 'embed inside' box gives me no options other than 'nothing'.

Anyone have an idea what the problem could be?

Thanks,
Will

RE: HydroCAD Infiltration Trench

On the storage tab, define the outer volume (the stone-filled trench) first, and set the voids.  This will be volume #1

Then define the embedded pipe as volume #2, and set it to "Embed Inside" volume #1.

Click OK a couple of times and open the pond summary report to see the final volume calculations.

This is covered in detail at www.hydrocad.net/chambers.htm

psmart:

I just downloaded the sampler program and have two small projects to try it out on.  Where is the separate "HydroCAD forum?  Thanks in advance for your answer.

To find the HydroCAD forum, you can use the "Find a Forum" Search box at the top of this page.

RE: HydroCAD Infiltration Trench

I found it in "forum789: HydroCAD Stormwater Modeling".  Testing to see if this post will establish a link to there.  Text does not appear highlighted, so probably not.
