IGES Part Model to DrawingFile

IGES Part Model to DrawingFile

IGES Part Model to DrawingFile

(OP)
I have brought an IGES file into Catia V5. I am able to create the automatic views in the draft. However, I would like to use a particular view of the part model as the main view from which I would be projecting.I can't seem to find a way to select the particular view that I need in the draft. Can you help?

RE: IGES Part Model to DrawingFile

You can create a plane in 3d of the view you want in drafting.  Create a front view from drafting and select in the 3d window the new plane.
This also works with sections.  Create a sketch in 3d of the section cut you require.  Create section from drafting and select the sketch from the 3d window.

Regards,
Derek

Are you asking how to create basic views, or are you having trouble with this particular model?

RE: IGES Part Model to DrawingFile

If you can't choose the particular side to create the view, how about creating a new plane normal to that side. then choose the plan as your front view.  this should allow you then to project from this view.

note, you can project off of any view as long as it's active...right?
