Hi,

Can we use FCAW for P8 materials in Sour Servie application?

Thanks,

RE: FCAW

What product form -  plate, tube, pipe, castings.....?

What grade(s) of P8 - 304,316,310,321,347.....?

RE: FCAW

Sorry,

It is plate and 316.

RE: FCAW

Frank1344;
I would presume that you are looking for high deposition rates in the field or you are welding relatively heavy wall plate. Either way, FCAW is fine with me. You had better check with the end user, they may want GMAW (MIG).

RE: FCAW

Why shouldn't you use FCAW, particularly FCAW-G, for H2S service?  Neither ISO 15156 nor NACE MR0103 prohibit its use.
