Help- How the values for tails will become after wing interaction

Help- How the values for tails will become after wing interaction

(OP)
Hello guys:

After the air flowing past the wing of an aircraft, the flow will hit the horizontal tail and vertical tail.

I am wandering how the angle of attack and free stream velocity will change? How much of the values I should use for the tails?

Thanks a lot. :)

RE: Help- How the values for tails will become after wing interaction

Hi Lisamaverik :

You may have information from Airplane Performance Stability and Control by Perkins & Hage. It is a good introductory
book.
Here you can find information you need about tail angle of attack and  coments about free dynamic pressure loss at tail.
Also see NACA TR-648 " Design charts for predicting downwash angles and wake characteristics behind plain and flapped wings ".It is also a good reference.
Due to nature of aerodynamics involved, is not possible to answer you question easily.
Cheers

Dear Friend
There will be the factor of downwash and due downwash the angle of attack at the tail will change.Just keep the book of the actual angle of attack and then calculate the induced angle of attack,i.e alpha(i). once you calculate the induced angle of attack then that should be subtracted from the effective angle of attack or freestream angle of incidence.
