BOM

BOM

(OP)
When I create a BOM from a model view, it includes all parts from the model. But I would like it to only show a list of the parts that I have specifically called out in the drawing. Is there any setting for this? I know that I can go in and manually hide each of the 200 other parts, but I'm looking for a shortcut.
Thanks

RE: BOM

what you are needing to do is try and break your assembly down into sub assemblies and then use top level prts only function then you wont have so much to hide.

RE: BOM

gatnact is right, that is the way it is done. However you can hide your parts in the assembly tree (which is quick), then go into the drawing tree and grab all the hidden parts and use “Hide Component”.
The parts will show up on the BOM unless you exclude from BOM.

RE: BOM

You could RMB on the BOM and delete the lines you don't want, but sub-assemblies would definitely help out.

RE: BOM

Create a configuration of the model with that parts you don't want Suppressed.  Use that for your BOM in your drawing if you can't have sub-assemblies.

You can select the 200 components then right-click, select Component Properties, check Exclude from bill of materials.
The components will show on the drawing but they will not be captured in the BOM.
