Hydroflow Hydrographs Question

Hydroflow Hydrographs Question

Hydroflow Hydrographs Question

(OP)
I am a fairly new user to Hydraflow. I usually use the default shape factor of 484. I realize this number would go up or down based on my environment. However, I live in the midwest, so I figured that the 484 number would be ok.

What I need to know is how this number is figured. Is there a formula or something that I can use to prove this number? Any help on this would be appreciated.

RE: Hydroflow Hydrographs Question

I'd say 484 is a safe bet.  If you use hydraflow's help and search for shape factor you will find that they give limited examples on adjusting but no guidelines.  I was able to find a reference that did list some applicable values other than 484 for various descriptions.

That is the link to the html version which is missing pertinent information.  So click on the site at the top of the page to go to the power point presentation.  The info you are looking for is on page 198.
