What does the "WPBN" represent?  

I have a fitting with...A/SA234 WPBN W8297 GT...stamped on it?  Can anyone describe what all that represents?

The N is probably for Normalized.

OK...What about the "WPB" and "W8297"?

WPB means fitting made of carbon steel grade B , See ASTM A 234.
W8297GT could be the Heat #
