Externam Refs wont break

Externam Refs wont break

Externam Refs wont break

(OP)
Hello all
Me co worker has a multi body part - wants to get part and break the reference completely. She can do this; however, when she goes to File > save as > References - -the reference is still listed there and not broken. Below is some of her email to me:

>>>I have assemblies and drawings that reference the part file that I am having difficulty breaking the links on.  I dont want to re-create these assemblies and drawings.  If I use the "parasolid" solution, I will have to redo prior work.  I agree that saving the file as a parasolid and then re-opening it in SW and using FeatureWorks will break the link.  I need a solution that will do this and maintain the integrity of established file references.<<<

Thanks all...this Mondays gonna drive me crazy...and I just dont have too far to drive!!

Thanks,

Rip

RE: Externam Refs wont break

She needs to open the part and, wherever there's the external ref symbol, she'll need to edit the sketch/feature that contains the external ref. Click on the display/delete relations button and delete them from there. She'll be able to click on the drop down menu and filter the external references.
