edit sheet format line colors

Just curious but the sheet lines when I print a sketch out are light grey (title block) but if you do an edit sheet format and the highlight a line the properties say its black, so I am stumped; Can we print title blocks and sheet format lines in black?

Thanks!

RE: edit sheet format line colors

By some chance do you have Color Display Mode turned on?

Is color display mode specific to the sheet edit format? I am just wondering because all my assembly/part lines are black, but the out line and sheet and title block lines print gray.

RE: edit sheet format line colors

Does the print preview show the lines as black or grey?

Depending upon the printer, the Print dialogue box should have an option to print as "black & white" only.

cheers

Why would my drawing print the parts all black then print the border and title bock lines grey?

kinda strange or is this normal for SolidWORKS?

thanks

Can you post a simple part file and detail drawing?  The actual SolidWorks files.  Also a screen shot of what you are seeing on the screen.

You have a setting that is not correct.  There are several things it could be.  It would help to have some files to trouble shoot for you.  I suspect then it would be a matter of a couple minutes to figure out.

How do I post a file here?

RE: edit sheet format line colors

Robert,

I recieved your file, thanks for sending it.

Right Mouse Button (RMB) and Edit Your Sheet Format, then Ctrl Select all of your lines/text and place them on your Format layer.  At the moment your lines are not on the Format layer which is in your template.  The layer can control your colors in your drawing for you.

What is happening is your lines are reverting to the Inactive Entities color in the System Options > Colors tab when you go back to work on the drawing sheet.

When your mouse is up in the top toolbar area, you can RMB and turn on the Layer toolbar.

Be sure to save your template to a location al your users can access when you are done.
