Crane Naval?

Crane Naval?

Crane Naval?

(OP)
Does anyone have a list of cons against working for Crane Naval in Bloomington, Indiana? My best friend is leaving a great, stable job in Chicago to take a $30,000 pay cut to work for Crane in Bloomington. This doesn't seem like the wisest choice. Please advise.

RE: Crane Naval?

Money generally isn't a motivator to work for the DoD, but the work they do at NSWC Crane (I assume your friend is an EE) is very interesting stuff.  In general, there is also plenty of room to advance as the previous generation retires - the DoD is very top-heavy right now.

RE: Crane Naval?

Having done some biz with Crane I'd say they're one of the more sane offices under the DoD.  If you friend had to go DoD, he or she could do a lot worse.
