Mate question

Mate question

(OP)
Hello Mates? Get it??

Ok...Mate question...

in creating a new assembly, you can drop in the mate and make it mate with whatever part in assembly.
Is there a way to make this happen automatically?

Like - - automatically making the planes (?) automatically mate?

Thanks!

Have a great weekend!

Thanks,

Rip

RE: Mate question

The closes I can think of is to create Smart Components. Otherwise, SW wouldn't know what you want to mate.

RE: Mate question

Ripper,

Look up Smart Mates in the help.  If you have certain models you use alot you can set that item up to create the locating mates when the model is inserted.  I messed with it a little bit a couple of years ago, but it didnt seem to work for what we do.
