Parts are transparent and dashed on .idw

Parts are transparent and dashed on .idw

Parts are transparent and dashed on .idw

(OP)
Whenever i make a view of a certain part on a .idw.  4 of the 25 or so parts come up as transparent and the outline of the part is dashed.  Anyone know the reason for this?

RE: Parts are transparent and dashed on .idw

The parts are designated as "reference" in the Bill Of Materials. Open the BOM and change the parts back to "normal". You may also notice that the parts are not visible in the parts list, this will change when you change the BOM state.

RE: Parts are transparent and dashed on .idw

The hidden lines are because the part is reference, and turning them back to normal will fix the problem.  However, you can keep the parts as ref and keep your BOM straight or to keep your weight and CoG correct(ref parts are weightless unless made flexible).  Click on the view in the IDW and pick edit view and go to the options tab.  Then under LINE STYLE pick "as parts." This fixes the dash lines but they still show through all other parts.  Next under HIDDEN LINE CALCULATION pick "all bodies".  Now all parts refference or not show up the same in your drawing.  The last thing you may have to do is enlarge you Margin because refference parts are not calculated into the auto margin.
