RE: FATIGUE CURVES FOR DUPLEX MATERIALS
In the case of 2205 , the as recieved crystal structure should affect the fatigue life of the specimen. Ratio of ferrite to austenite, and presence of intermetallic precipitates can embrittle the material. In particular, we found that in scrubber tray applications, where the mfr had welded the trays to stiffeneres, the weld HAZ had become embrittled and failed after 1 month service. Pieces of tray were pumped thru the slurry pumps and tore up the rubber lined piping. Not good.
