Canadian Geotechnical Journal
Canadian Geotechnical Journal
(OP)
For information of your organizations, Canadian Geotechnical Journal is currently making back issues available (1964 to 1995) for purchase price of $2000. This might be a good chance for newer geotechnical companies to build up their library. There will be many papers in these journals that will be quite relevant today.

www.nrc-cnrc.gc.ca will get you to the web site. The NRC Research Press publishes many journals - you will be looking for the Canadian Geotechnical Journal.

Those of us in small, private practice need 'practical' articles. The CGJ has a lot more to offer. If I were dealing with research, the ASCE JGGE would probably shine on. As a side, I remember back in the late 1960's, my father had a several year subscription to Geotechnique and found something very useful in nearly every issue. I also have his ASCE JGGE collection back to the late 1950's and the number of bookmarks still in the issues is impressive. I also note the bookmarks became less frequent as the journal issues became larger.

Take advantage of the CGJ offer if you can.

Sorry for the off-topic nature of this, but...
I saw your post in another forum about an engineering cartoon. I made a pdf of a cartoon that I'm nearly certain is the one you want. I can send if you provide contact information.

Sorry about the contact info faux pas. I guess what I really meant was "a way to get it to you."
I saw a FAQ and uploaded it here:

Never used this before, but the file came up when I clicked on "Server 1."
Sorry to hijack this thread (I picked it because it was "yours") and expose myself as a lurker, but I thought those were not sufficient reasons to withhold what you were looking for.
I hope it's what you wanted. And I never knew from where the cartoon came. I have at least second or third generation photocopy (got it in the '90s).

I remember this hanging, with many others, in my Father's office. Good Memories.
I am at the DFI conference in Colorado Springs. Dr. Kulhawy Had a good collection of cartoons which provided entertainment and some good points. What a hoot!!
