Is anyone using a 3DConnexion Spaceball 5000 with NX5/Windows XP 64Bit machine? We acquired new workstations and just found out that we can't get the Spaceballs to work. It doesn't look like there are any drivers for use with XP 64Bit from 3DConnexion. Anyone know of a workaround? I hate the thought of going back to management to get money to replace these things.

Thanks,

RE: Spaceball 5000 and Windows 64bit

Our Spaceball 5000's work with NX5 on 64Bit machines.  We didn't update the drivers during the switch from NX4 or the switch from 32Bit.  See if the 32Bit driver will work for you.

ewh, I appreciate the reply. Are you using the USB SpaceBalls? We have the Serial Connector on ours and can't get them to work even with the old drivers.

Yes, ours are usb.

RE: Spaceball 5000 and Windows 64bit

Serial connection support does not exist for 64bit, at least that is my understanding from 3Dconnexion.

Everything should be designed as simple as possible, but not simpler.
