Retrieving Von Mises tensions on Shell elements (PATRAN)

Retrieving Von Mises tensions on Shell elements (PATRAN)

Retrieving Von Mises tensions on Shell elements (PATRAN)

(OP)
Hi,

I ran a Static Analysis (1-G inertial loads) on a model containing Solid, Bar and Shell Elements. The F06 output file shows the Von Mises tensions for all the nodes on the model, including the center of Shell and Solid Elements.

However, when I try to draw either Quick Plots or Fringe Plots of Von Mises stresses, the post-processor will only plot stresses on Solid and Bar elements and not on Shell elements. Actually if I select a group entirely made out of Shell elements and make the same request I will read below:

"$# Warning reported from application Results"
"$# There are no results available for the targeted entities."

Which is all the more strange since these results were indeed calculated and output by NASTRAN and I can read them on the F06 file.

Finally, it should be mentioned that the displacement results were correctly calculated for all the nodes and I can make Fringe Plots out of them for all the model.

Can anyone give me a hand here? Thanks in advance,

Julian
