adhesive needed for outdoor application of rubber
adhesive needed for outdoor application of rubber
(OP)
I have some smooth rubber applied to aluminum on an outdoor application using 3M77 spray adhesive that isn't working.
The rubber heats up, expands and comes loose. I need something that's not permanent, but will handle the heat. The material gets to a temp whereby you can only keep your hands on it for about 3 seconds before real pain sets in, not sure what temp that is? 150F?
I plan on the 3M90 spray unless someone else can give me a hint of a commercially available material that I can buy at Home Depot type stores.
Double sided tape may be usable too but the 3M material I have is more permanent that I'd desire.
Thanks,
kch

The surface I mount to gets hot even if we put a sheet of white over the black rubber.
I just purchased 3M77,3M80(rubber bonding) and 3M90, will try out some experiments. Just curious if there's anything out there. It'd have to setup fast too, don't want to wait a day for it to setup.
thanks,
kch

You won't get it at the Home Depot Fosters 81-33 is an excellent rubber adhesive and can take the heat.
If you have an industrial insulation company near by they might have it or you can look at Fosters list of suppliers.
