Is Top Nozzle for WRC Possible

Is Top Nozzle for WRC Possible

(OP)
I am currently trying to input a nozzle to a vessel at the top/head of the vessel which is of coarse has the same centerline.  Is it still possible to model this without any errors?

RE: Is Top Nozzle for WRC Possible

I guess that you are referring to use of WRC 107 or WRC 297 to calculate local stresses in the vessel shell. Both those codes are specifically for attachments to cylindrical shells, so cannot be used for a vessel end which would normally be torispherical, elliptical etc.

This issue was covered by a recent thread in the Coade forum.
