When creating a blind hole, is the away to show drill point without creating another feature.

Yes.  In WF2.  Add "hole_diameter_override yes" to your config.pro file.  Use the tapped hole feature and uncheck "include thread surface" in the shape dialog box. Change the tap drill diameter to the diameter you want.
