Vessel Mixing Turnover rate

Vessel Mixing Turnover rate

Vessel Mixing Turnover rate

(OP)
Help....I know how to calculate the expected mixing time for a material blend, but my customer is asking me for the mixing turnover time in my vessel.  I don't know that I've ever tried to do this.  Anybody know how.  Nothing funny about my system.  6500 gallon vessel with 4 baffles, bottom impeller is radial and middle one is 4 pitch axial.

RE: Vessel Mixing Turnover rate

dearman,

My understanding of mixing turnover time would be the time it takes the agitator to pump the equivalent of one vessel volume, i.e. turnover the vessel contents.

I have seen the data used as a relative guide to mixing intensity, usually as the number of turnovers per unit of time.

To do this you will need the pumping rate data from the agitator supplier.
