Does anyone know a good reference for limit state design of retaining walls?

RE: Limit State Design of Retaining Wall?

sdz,

There are ASD and LRFD methods, depending on the wall type. I'm sure that you could perform LSD checks on various elements, but I can't recall a coherent LSD approach for the geotechnical side of things.

sdz,

Are you looking for an Australian reference?

If so there are handbooks with examples at:

http://www.cmaa.com.au/

Hope this helps.

csd72, yes I have downloaded that and it is useful. I am also looking for textbook type references.

I doubt you will find any.

Good luck.

RE: Limit State Design of Retaining Wall?

Prof Mick Pender of Auckland University NZ has run courses with good notes on Limit State design. Try contacting him via the Uni, though I'd heard he was on sabbatical. Still e-mails should be passed on.
