Start Capacitor ratings

Start Capacitor ratings

Start Capacitor ratings

(OP)
I have a single phase 3HP 230V 60Hz capacitor start capacitor run submersible motor which came with a 250/300mfd, 230V rating start capacitor & 36+36mfd, 440V rating run capacitors.

As this start capacitor is defective i need to replace it but the rating of the start capacitor comercially available in the market is 270/324mfd, 250V rating & 35+35mfd, 380V rating.

If i use these capacitors will there be any adverse effect on the motor life or performance.

RE: Start Capacitor ratings

It will start with a little more torque and run with a little less though not enough to probably notice.  The voltage rating may mean a shorter life for the run cap part though...
