Configuration question

Configuration question

Configuration question

(OP)
I am having difficulty in assembly configuration. I have an assembly and want to make more configurations of it. For instance, I orient one of the parts differently in another configuration. I create a new configuration, and make the orientation change. But, both my default and new config are having same (new) orientation for the part. I went into feature manager, component properties, referenced configurations, but, I am seeing only default configuration in the selection box not the newly created configuration (example, configuration-1). What is the mistake I am doing ? If I select "Specific configurations, the pop up box shows default and configuration-1, but, even if I select configuration-1 in that box, it does not seem to update anything. Pl let me know. Thanks. ?(btw: My previous handle (Sripri) does not work anymore. I sent requests to know what is the issue, not received any replies so far. So created a new one).

RE: Configuration question

Are you changing the orientation by simply moving the part, or with mates? Moving it won't work as the configuration will rely on suppressed/unsuppressed mates to control the position of the part(s).

I was reorienting by just moving it. I think that's the reason why it did not work. Will try again. Thanks Jeff.
