Lithium-6 uses

(OP)
An email came to me asking what are the military uses of lithium-6 are. Apparently a large order has been placed an no one knows why.

RE: Lithium-6 uses

Lithium 6 is tha naturally occuring isotope that is the source material for tritium production.  The Dept. of Energy puts Li 6 into large nuclear reactors where the neutron flux splits it into helium (He 4) and tritium (H3).  The tritium is used as hydrogen bomb fuel.  There are other nuclear uses too.
