Vintage GE Relay
Vintage GE Relay
(OP)
Hello,
In one of my old generating stations, I found 3 GE relays mounting on porcelin standoffs. They look like some sort of overcurrent relay for the 44 kV system.
Nameplate has General Electric, Time Limit Relay, Type P, Form C-31. See picture here: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=5ybyczq
Anyone ever see one of these before? Due age of plant, I would guess this is from the 1930's.

RE: Vintage GE Relay
It is a in-line overcurrent relay. It is similiar to a solenoid in that the leads go into a coil. There a metal rod that can be adjusted with time markings on it. The rod goes to disk on top that sits up against a housing. This housing has an air orifice to provide some delay, I assume.
Thanks for the link.
